Folkestone Community Hub

In March 2020 when the Covid pandemic hit Three Hills jumped into action and in conjunction with Folkestone & Hythe District Council we set up the Folkestone Community Hub to help our local residents. 15 months later we are handing operations over to Age UK SKC. There have been highs and lows along the road but it’s been an amazing experience to be part of.

Here’s a little snapshot of what we got up to:
14,262 phone calls answered
1,515 meals on wheels delivered
4,513 shops completed (that’s around 68 football pitches in length of shopping trolleys!)
2,184 prescriptions collected
467 dog walks walked (in all weathers!!)
574 emergency food packs made up

We couldn’t have done any of this without our dedicated band of amazing volunteers of which there were over 100. These guys truly were the heart of the hub and we couldn’t have asked any more of them, giving up their own time to help their local community. We genuinely can not thank you all enough. Nick the Three Hills site manager would also like to thank all the Three Hills staff who worked tirelessly to get the hub up and running and keep it going over all these months, “I’m proud of my team, who have gone above & beyond to support our community. A massive thank you to our volunteers, who have worked selflessly for over a year to support the vulnerable in our community.”

This isn’t a total goodbye, just a farewell for now as we will still be involved with upcoming local community projects.
